Not much is going to sneak out of North Carolina for a while. The blogosphere has an eye and ear firmly planted on all the exciting artists with ties to or making music down that way. Megafaun had a lot of connections to things that I am really, really into, so I was more than ready to give their ep a listen when it came in. The three guys in Megafaun used to be in DeYarmond Edison with Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver), and Brad Cook is co-owner of Burlytime Records - the label that brought you Bowerbirds last year...now signed to Dead Oceans. Come on, did we steer you wrong with either of those bands?! If you were into them, you will find elements in Megafaun that you'll really enjoy.
